Welcome to Vines Woodworks, Inc. homepage! Thanks for choosing us for all of your interior stair needs. We offer full service turn key stair systems in new homes, existing homes, remodeling projects, commercial buildings, and pretty much anything that involves stairs that's inside & not entirely concrete or wrought iron, we probably do it. We have the most highly experienced carpenters who do top notch work every single time. We make sure it's correct and you get exactly what you paid for and we strive to make sure it looks better than something we would put in our own homes. We do everything from freestanding curved stair systems (built on-site) to replacing the carpet steps in the basement with wood steps and everything in between. We take a great deal of pride in what we do and we supply the parts when we can because we use †øp quality material that nobody else uses to ensure you get the best job and it lasts a long long time. We offer a huge selection of everything stair parts, accessories, and even tools. We want to give you the best quality and the least hassle on you project.
We've done everything from basement upgrades to some of the largest homes in Alabama. A staircase is essentially the built in furniture in your home and we take a great deal of pride in being tasked with that responsibility and we want to make you proud of the focal point in your home. We have done many Parade of Homes houses in the Birmingham area and have done homes for several high profile athletes as well as for the ABC show Extreme Makeover; Home Edition; we installed a curved stair for a couple in Montgomery, AL.
We currently serve the Greater Birmingham Area; although we do travel for significant jobs, but we typically stay in the Birmingham area. Please don't hesitate to call us and we'll send either Joe (Vines) or Trent (Vines) out to give you an estimate.. We do not charge for estimates within 50 miles of Birmingham, but we do charge a fee for estimates that are further than 50 miles should we not end up doing the project for you.
That's a loaded question to answer because we aren't really any different than anyone else except that we do stairs every single day and since we supply our parts we have been through the trial and error of seeing which materials are the best for the money and which companies sell the best looking and most stable wood because all of that makes a huge difference if you like to sneak up the steps at night. If you don't mind your steps popping and squeaking and potentially not being code compliant, we're not who you want. We take a great deal of pride in our business and all 3 of our team members are masters of the trade & don't let anything slide. If we do your job, you can bet all your money that it's going to be correct and it's going to be done as well as we could do it. Not every wall is flat and every corner is square in a house, and while we aren't magicians, there's not much we can't work to and make it aesthetically pleasing and architecturally correct. We don't do anything sub par and we do go through quite a bit of additional effort to ensure the job lasts for years to come and that you don't have problems with it.. We have a process to our installations that ensure everything is done in a proper sequence that ties all the steps together and gives you a stair system that will last through generations. We've put staircases where architects told us it was absolutely impossible for a staircase to go in a house and be code compliant, yet we were able to frame in and install a beautiful system within a few days. Unfortunately throughout the years, we've seen many jobs where we were hired to clean up a mess that someone who wasn't a stair installer attempted to install the steps, and the owner had to pay us to tear out and start back over to get their stairs in properly and code compliant. Don't let that happen to you!!. Call us today for an estimate!!! 205.999.3895(Joe) / 205.612.1613 (Trent)
Vines Woodworks Inc was founded by Joe Vines in the late 1970's and he and a few hired hands were doing the finish millwork on many homes in the greater Birmingham area and on most of the homes he worked on at the time, the hired help was handling the trim and Joe began to do the stair work. As time progressed and he got better at it and they got busier; he began to see that it was costing tons of time and money when the suppliers for the stair parts were getting orders wrong or the millwork salesman got something wrong they were incomplete stalling the completion of the projects, so he took it upon himself to start stocking the parts he thought he would need to keep this from happening and it blossomed into relationships with suppliers, and us having the ability to supply what we do today.
We are out of Trussville, our shop/warehouse behind the Trussville Target is where we work on our larger projects sand produce some of our stair parts in house, but most of the parts we carry are ordered on as needed basis. We also do a lot of the custom work on our radius projects that many trim suppliers have to order from us or other millwork shops who have the capability to do custom millwork.
We are believers in honesty, hard work, and we take great pride in keeping our customers satisfied; something that has been somewhat lost this day in age. We strive to make sure our customers get what they pay for and we do our best to keep them up to speed on any projects that take substantial time to complete so that they may schedule around us and so that we don't interfere with the progress on their projects.
